YHC was happy to see seven others at #Mayhem this morning, as the promise of nearby Bells N Whistles and something moderately challenging like an Iron Pax Challenge pulled away even the local site Q. If the numbers had been four or less, YHC would have punted and switched to an old standby (Crazy Eights),…

Nine pax gathered at Diggs-Latham Elementary on the last day of ‘summer’ for most local grade school students. The weather cooperated with overcast skies, only 64 degrees at launch, no rain, but plenty of humidity. NMM The multi-turn route went north by Christ Moravian and Piedmont International. Its proximity to his home and work brought…
The hip new color this season is fluorescent yellow, as evidenced by at least three Pax this morning. Two of them — Wobegon and Closer — wore bold, sleeveless versions, while the Q (Burlap) showed off his impressive lapover band in a tight, short sleeved top. Mutton returned with his staple — dazzling orange —…
70 degrees and muggy — Summer is finally here. Seven Pax arrived at Messiah Moravian for a route with no major hills but generally slightly downhill out and uphill back. A nice modest 5K distance. Three rounds of Tabata included Merkins and Squats to “Give up the Funk” by Parliament; Mountain Climbers and Alternating Curtsy…
73 degrees (at least) and muggy Warm-up lap most of the way around the park, clockwise, stopping at the bridge over Peter’s Creek where Reynolda Rd and West End Blvd join and near the large arrowhead that no one ever notices. YHC promised low 30s temps. I guess the number 30 is in the low 30s. The Pax warmed up nicely winding up either Buena Vista Road or Robinhood/Greenbrier Road, and all enjoyed the downhill slide of Runnymede back to the Park. COT Lunch bunch at Mellow Mushroom before noon. The Vig will Q OGs and…
Coming off a soaking rain, several Pax were hoping that the workout leaders would be smart enough to keep us off the soggy field. The chief Q was not. The beatdown went something like this: SSH IC ISTs IC Copperhead squats IC Running with Scissors IC Peter Parkers IC Toy Soldiers IC Hillbillies IC Mountain…
Seven Pax did the main workout Qed by YHC while Walter White led El Choppo and Beverly in a track workout that seemed to involve a lot of fast running in distances of 100-400 meters. They were flying. The rest of us did a warm-up half lap clockwise around the park ending at the shelter…
