[WARNING: Some of the following may be true.] Whirly got tired of having no friends due to his insensitive posts on the Twitter, so he decided to take revenge against the world by agreeing to Q and then substituting a younger, fresher, meaner out-of-towner in his stead. Geppetto agreed to leave his beloved Winston-Salem several…
A beautiful 52 degree weather morning greeted the 11 Pax at Messiah Moravian. At 0530, we started our first ALARMS without any disclaimer or warm-up. THANG ALARMS: 40 reps, then 30, then 20, then 10, then 20, then 30, then repeat: A – Arms – choose from (a) Jack Reachers, (b) OH Claps, or (c)…
27 degrees at post, with occasional wind. Zima in shorts BUT he was wearing two shirts, at least one of which was long-sleeved. He ran in with the shovel flag. (Excellent site Q.) Mongoose responded cheerfully to YHC’s request to bring small orange cones and laid them on the hood of my car without a…
Well, we finally had a dry morning, and temps were pretty good at about 40 degrees. But what is the deal with the wind? JB admitted he may have been underdressed with shorts on. SVP was probably cold, too, but fought it off by running out front. The pack stayed together for about two blocks…
YHC is OK with below-freezing temps and snow. YHC can handle heat. But my least favorite conditions are mid-30s and rainy. This morning we had 36 with drizzle and a very soggy ground. My hands were nearly frozen by the end, due in part to the poor glove choice YHC made, but mostly due to…
A pax of 14 eventually gathered at the right spot — at Thruway Shopping Center between McDonald’s and Talbots, not between SteinMart and Talbots — and complained that there were four stations and not three. The THANG: Counterclockwise circuit with running to eastern end of shopping center to perform diamond merkins, around the back of the…
YHC had his second Q of the week, thanks to an illness last week that made me switch Flatlines with Van Gogh. But the concept and goal of TRQ is quite different from Flatline, so no way I could repeat. Secondly, YHC planned for (and got) temps in the high teens. This meant that the number…
YHC walks across and occasionally uses the parking lot at 2nd and Cherry/Marshall, and often notices the numbers on the spaces. One fine afternoon, YHC thought to himself, “Wouldn’t it be interesting if we let the Pax park wherever they wanted and then assigned exercises to match the number of each space?” YHC answered himself in…
On 05 Jan 2019, a Pax of 98 gathered at Hanes Park at the site of the original F3 workout in the Dash back on 04 Jan 2014. We gathered to workout, to see old friends, to make new ones, to welcome an FNG, to say “Kotters” to men we have missed, to remember and…
