Flatline

YHC was happy to oblige Hedwig and Q Flatline for the first time in a long time.  In anticipation of rain, a plan for the parking deck was made.  The rain never came, but pain was felt undercover.

The Thang:

Quick mosey around the block to the bottom of the hill below the 1st Pres parking deck.  We split in half with one half sprinting put the hill while the other half performed an exercise.

1sr exercise SSH

2nd exercise Hill Billies

3rd exercise Whirlys

Now that everyone was warm, it was off to the ground floor of the garage.

We performed one exercise on the 1st level.  On the second level we repeated the first exercise and added one more.  We did this until we had moved up 7 levels and performed 7 exercises.  Those that finished first performed SSH until the 6 was done.

Floor 1-7 – 10 Burpees

Floor 2-7 – 20 Monkey Humpers

Floors 3-7  –  5 pull ups

Floors 4-7  – 20 Squats

Floors 5-7  – 25 Dips

Floors 6-7  – 20 Imperial Storm Trooper

Floor 7  –  Plank Jacks

That was so much fun we repeated Floors 1-3

Time flies when you re having fun and we were left with exactly 5 minutes for Mary.

COT – Keep Thistle’s son in your prayers as he is part of one of the 3 carrier fleets performing war games not far from North Korea.  Prayers for our President and our other troops throughout the world.

Zima informed me that was a top 3 workout in terms of calorie count.  630 if I am not mistaken!

A late afternoon call went out from the site Q on Tuesday requesting someone step up to Q #Flatline.  YHC was more than happy to accept.  It must be the high tempo theme of the AO that gets YHC especially juiced.  The plan almost put itself together. 0530 – We start moving. YHC regrets that the Flat and Red Lines occur on the same day as they are 2 of YHC’s 3 favorite workouts (although the Iron Throne is gaining ground quickly).  With that being said, YHC was excited to see a large crowd gathered in the 1st Pres parking lot.  YHC recited the mission statement and…

  1. Really glad I missed this one. Looks awful. Thanks for stepping up and staying true to the format with a cardio-heavy beatdown.

  2. Hedwig – please remove Mutton from the list of potential Flatline Qs. He has an evil side that was “painfully” evident. I hate parking decks. But if I liked to hurt, I’d thank Mutton.

  3. 691 calories by my very scientific precise count. In the top 3 Flatlines that I’ve attended! Not bad for 45 minutes at 5:30 in the morning while the rest of the city sleeps. And shockingly, there was a possible counting discrepancy during the burpees pointed out by an unnamed member of the PAX. Seriously Thistle (oops), I hope you don’t do your own (or anyone else’s) taxes. Since counting to three is difficult, it’s no wonder you accused Mutton of shorting us on a Benjamin’s (read: 100) worth of burpees.

  4. 100-120 burpees is there really a diff when you can’t feel your arms/back/legs?

Thx Mutton for the pain YHC felt all day!
