Billboard #1s at Bells and Whistles

14 PAX were tested on their musical knowledge in an attempt to completely avoid Burpees and longer runs this morning at the latest edition of Bells & Whistles. Well, they were partially successful. Here’s how it went down:

Warm-O-Rama
SSHs, IC
ISTs, IC
Whirlys, IC
Arm Swirly Things, IC

PAX were divided into 3 teams for pain stations consisting of the following:

Station 1
Kettlebell Swings – 15X
Curls Left – 10X
Curls Right – 10X
Overhead Press – 15X
Figure Eights – 15X
Skull Crushers – 15 X

Station 2

WWII Sit-Ups – 15X
Plank Jacks – 15X
Freddy Mercs – 15X
Merkins – 15X
American Hammer – 15X
Michael Phelps – 20X

Station 3

LBCs – 15X
Hand Release Merkins – 15X
Squats – 15 X
Nolan Ryans – 10X each side
Jack Reachers – 20 X

YHC’s playlist consisted of Billboard #1 tunes that were #1 on July 7th of their respective year. Teams worked through the reps at their station until the end of the tune. After the tune ended, each team offered a guess as to which year the tune was #1 on July 7th. If one of the teams came up with the correct answer, then the PAX did a short run around the parking lot and rotated to the next station for the next tune. If all three teams were incorrect, then the PAX did Burpees followed by a longer run. For each miss, the number of Burpees was increased by one.

Out of 6 tunes, the PAX finished the workout with a record of 2-4.

The PAX CORRECTLY identified the year for the following tunes:

Bette Davis Eyes – Kim Carnes – 1981 – Short Run
Baby Don’t Forget My Number – Milli Vanilli – 1989 – Short Run

The PAX INCORRECTLY identified the year for the following tunes:

Baby Got Back – Sir Mix A Lot – 1992 – 3 Burpees and long run
Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman – Bryan Adams – 1995 – 4 Burpees and long run
It’s Too Late – Carole King – 1971 – 5 Burpees and long run
One Dance – Drake – 2016 – 6 Burpees and long run

NMM

– Welcome Happy Man! (former FNG Penn Clark)) Happily married 24 years and devoted to his wife, became acquainted with Landshark in a Bible Study and was invited today by Toe Tag.
– Welcome back The Singing Cowboy! You have been missed !
– YHC should probably subscribe to Spotify premium to avoid all of the annoying commercials, apologies to the PAX, could probably have gotten in 1 or 2 more tunes (and more Burpees) without that.
– The Site Q was convinced that Baby Got Back was played at YHC’s wedding and thus the reason for being included in the playlist. YHC was unsuccessful in his attempt to convince otherwise.
– Thanks to the PAX for their support and many thanks to Atrophy for the keys!
