Whenever YHC plans a beatdown, the focus is on creating a difficult workout for the fittest men (i.e. most physically “in shape”) in attendance. If the fittest are challenged, everyone gets better, and I believe that should be the goal.
Knowing that The Estate has a hate-leaning and/or elite athlete crowd from week-to-week, YHC had his work cut out for him. This was further compounded by an ominous and somewhat cryptic tweet from Site Q Huckleberry yesterday, promising his Twitter followers they would “never forget” this beatdown. This resulted in YHC making some late-night adjustments to what was actually a pretty simple plan, utilizing three of my favorites from the lexicon:
- Forties
- Red Barchetta
- Dirty McDeuce
The trick was combining these three into an “unforgettable” experience for the 21 pax in attendance.
It all started promptly at 0530 with a mosey to The Village Tavern lot for Warm-o-rama:
- SSH x 20
- Whirly x 15
- Alternating shoulder taps x 12
- Peter Parker x 12
- Ski jumps x 12
Then a mosey to base of the hill by the trail for Forties:
- 5 squats
- Backwards jog up hill
- 35 reverse lunges (single count)
- Jog downhill
- Increase squats by 5 reps each time
- Decrease lunges by 5 reps each time
- Run with scissors while waiting on the 6
140 squats and 140 lunges were completed, or 2,940 of each by all pax in total!
Mosey to the Rugby Field for Red Barchetta:
- 100 yard dash – 100 SSHs – return
- 75 yard dash – 75 Mountain climbers (double count) – return
- 50 yard dash – 50 LBCs – return
- 25 yard dash – 25 Merkins – return
- 10 yard dash – 10 burpees – return
—10 count by Cobra—
Dirty McDeuce:
Round 1
- Merkins x 12
- Drop lunges x 12
- American hammers x 12
- 1 lap around path
Round 2
- Diamond merkins x 12
- Monkey humpers x 12
- Heels to heaven x 12
- Beatdownus Interruptus: Time called
Mosey back to parking lot. No time for Mary.
YHC took us out of COT.

Announcements:
- TR needs Qs for Purgatory
- Zima is planning a convergence for July 4. Nag him incessantly about it.
NMM:
- The Estate never fails in bringing out the largest boot camp crowd in The Dash each week. It’s a great AO, so I get it.
- BAM called this beatdown “A Desert of Misery”. How could YHC not use that for the title of the backblast?
- Cobra was confused and thought he posted at Flatline for the first time. That’s on Tuesday and Thistle has the Q this week, so there’s still time, Cobra!
- Shake Weight will be starting The Dash’s first shake weight workout in the near future. See Slack for details.
- Gelding has a gong in his living room that he uses to EH (i.e., violently wake up) his roommates at 0500.
- If Toe Tag does an EC run before every workout, is it still considered EC?
- Pretty sure Blue Steel’s heart rate never got above 75 bpm, meaning YHC failed today.
- Balco knew it was Leg Day yet was a no-show anyway.
Now that’s a strong beatdown. Glad I went to RNG. You guys nearly got in as many miles anyway.
It. Was. Awful.
YHC was already getting lapped after the first round running backwards. Steep hill.
Slobber knocker.
