Look Ma, I Wrote A Backblast

YHC is breaking the #Fasthole rule put forth by Mongeezy – who himself broke the rule earlier this week – of not writing backblasts. Something about being too fast to have time for writing these. See Mongeezy for details and fine print.
Mayhem was chaotic and thus lived up to its name this morning. Last time YHC attended this AO there was a track, but it has now been replaced by a lake, and none of the pax were prepared for swimming. So Omaha was called midway through, but not before giving Mudfoot a case of Trenchfoot as we waded through one of the deeper puddles.
The revised plan looked a lot like this:
Warmup
Mosey to end of driveway so that cars turning into Meadowlark would not have time to react to 18 men blocking their way at 0530 in the morn.
A Young Abe Vigoda x 10
Whirlys w/ clap x 20
Running with scissors x 30
Mosey to Jamison Park
Peter Parker x 10
Plank jacks x 20
Alternating shoulder taps x 30
Shelter
Partner up – combined 100 each
Irkins
Derkins
Dips
Other should be doing steps ups
Meanwhile, back at the main parking lot…
100 yd dash – 100 SSHs; plank while you wait on 6
75 yd dash – 75 mountain climbers; SSH while you wait on 6
50 yd dash – 50 LBCs; Run with scissors while you wait on 6
25 yd dash – merkins; Cobra humpers while you wait on 6
10 yd dash – 10 burpees
MOM was a game of “Until the Q Says Stop” and included the following crowd pleasers:
Squats
Reverse lunges
Penguin crunches
Announcements:
  • Splash has Q Saturday at Purgatory, his original AO.
  • Spam’tan has Q tomorrow at The Distillery
  • Shmedfest is August 24, beer starts flowing at 0700 juxtaposed with the FIA beatdown. Official Shmedfest activities begin at 4. Get your tickets and info here: https://crisiscontrol.org/shmedfest/. According to Ticketmaster, “prices may fluctuate depending on demand,” so be sure to get your tickets during low-demand periods.
  • Tuna 200 team needs runners – Oct 25-26.

Mr. Shmeddy himself took us out with strong words.

NMM:

  • Lots of MC to inspire the Q this morning. Splash and Zima considered awarding YHC “Most Heckled Q at Mayhem” although the Site Q wasn’t there to sign off.
  • Great seeing many new faces including Milkshake, Mudfoot, Tweety Bird, and the name that brought flashbacks to my troubled college clubbing days, Black Light.
  • Spam is getting a case of Millennial Entitlement now that he’s Nantan, as witnessed by his reluctance to do called exercise and plank when asked.
  • Controversy over who gave me the keys. Zima got suspiciously quiet for the first time all morning when this topic came up.
  • $5 Footlong and his posse always show up ready to go and bring it every time.

On that note…thanks for the keys. Peace out.

This beatdown was a last minute adaptation of a CSAUP from The Speakeasy a little over a year ago.  It was a bad idea then and it did not improve at all with age.   TIME WASTERS.  We could have had more time to do the actual workout if we weren’t forced to waste precious…

  1. Many rules, guidelines, and advisory opinions were ignored by the Q this morning. What was not ignored was the desire to kick the collective asses of the Pax. Mission accomplished Bev!! Appreciate the partner work.
